Butterfly Architecture - Alica Majercinova

The Butterfly Square development is not only a sustainable multi-use project that invites the public to spend time in a beautiful park like space, it also serves as a feature within our built environment to attract birds and insects into our city parks. Butterfly Square was designed to look like two butterfly wings with solar panels embedded within the green roofs to mimic how butterflies use their wings to obtain energy from the sun. Some more of the sustainable features include planting beds and water features. The public space is an extension of a park and provides lots of green spaces for the public, however, one of the major goals of the project was to attract an endangered butterfly species by planting rare hårginsten flowers in abundance.

Butterfly Square will contain private apartments with skylights and individual patios, public spaces, shops and spaces for community events.
